You are an amazing human being. You get it, what it means to be there for someone, and how you are perceptive enough to receive a message like that. How many people would have read between the lines? In the way you are able to? Not many, I can promise you that. You are sheer sunshine. Cloudy day or not.
Oh definitely. Although as soon as I see "thank you for your understanding" I have many not charitable responses in my mind. The work life balance is an amazing thing. It took me decades to get it.
I love the honesty, especially in a world where we are expected to give 110% all the time.
I saw this with my youngest and percussion - they (and their peers) gave 110% right from the start to please their percussion instructor. When senior year arrived and they decided ( as most of the percussion kids there did) to focus on their mental health and life balance and everything to get ready for college - so giving only 100% - they were viewed as slacking off, or worse, not caring. I told my kiddo that it’s a good lesson to normalize more balance from the start for just this reason.
That work-life balance can be so tough, but I'm glad that person mentioned it! I think the more we talk about it, the easier it gets to do it (in some situations!)

Not sharing those not-so-charitable responses is key. LOL

Totally agree! I'm so glad you were able to have that conversation with them. I wish our generation had that knowledge at such a young age!

I feel like we’re all fighting a similar battle. We need to take care of each other. ❤️
